Getting Settled

So Tom, as usual, has beat me to commentary on the latest media coverage of Paris burning, NOT!

As the haze of jet lag starts to fade, we are exploring our neighborhood for all the spots sure to become our new, usual haunts for food, because, repeat after me, IT IS ALWAYS ABOUT THE FOOD!

A distant second to that is finding the closest metro station, boulangerie, super-sized Monoprix…check, check and check.

We even ventured to the Louvre to renew our “Friends of the Louvre” cards today.  While there, we didn’t check out any art, we hit the bathrooms on our way out.  Big mistake, with a lineup of 15 women for 2 stalls! Now there’s a unifying issue that all women of the world can unite behind.  More stalls!  But I digress.  We then headed off to the Jardin des Tuileries to take it all in. Take what in, you may ask.  Well just about everything.  We’re smack dab in the middle of Paris!

Next step for us is to start our paperwork for residing here and finding permanent lodging with the help of our representatives, Your Friend In Paris.

Sometime soon, I hope our heavy lifting to this adventure will come to an end and we can do some real coasting.  So fingers crossed…

Stay tuned!
